Christmas at Snapdragons Artificial Wreaths.

Welcome to the second in a series of blog posts about the items we have a available at Snapdragons this festive season. This one will be about the artificial wreaths we have available, we will still have our popular fresh holly wreaths (£4.99 each) and beautiful fresh spruce wreaths (£14 each) available from early December. like our silk arrangements these wreaths are one off designs so if you see something you like pop in soon to get it. Wreaths are lovely decorations for Christmas and are not just for the front door. they also look good in cottage kitchens, hall ways, mantle pieces and interior doors.
Lets start with this traditional green wreath. Made of artificial spruce foliage, it is adorned with a lovely collection of pine cones, cinnamon sticks, frosted berries and dried fruit. Topped off with a festive tartan bow. This is warm, and welcoming without being glittery £15.50
Here a smaller green wreath with a more rustic feel, it is decorated with wooden Christmas tree shapes and frosted berries, the bow is a rustic burlap with natural, red and brown stripes to pick up the colours used in the decoration. £9.
Here we have something abit different. I look at the this wreath and think "the holidays are coming" It has a vintage american vibe with the red and silver/grey colour scheme including snowflakes, baubles and layered bow. It has the added extra of a large bottle cap decoration hanging in the center which depicts a vintage Santa and wording Merry Xmas.  £12.50

Bottle cap decoration also available separately in two designs £4.75 each.
This elegant wreath is intertwined willow ring in antique gold colour with a swag of mixed leaves and berries, across the bottom and a stunning red bow with gold snowflake pattern. At just £9.50 what a bargain for something so stylish.
Looking for something abit different or bows not your thing how about this quirky star wreath, the willow base is decorated with Christmas tree foliage and metallic flecked leaves, with mini baubles and brown glittered poinsettia flowers. £9.50
These warm brown tones are really on trend and are warming when added to white colour schemes or tie in nicely with dusky pink and blues.
Another rustic wreath this time with a touch more sparkle. This twig wreath have been decorated with glittered leaves and berries and is finished off with a simple red bow, but still the whole effect is very pleasing for its simplicity.
£7

This last stunning wreath is an extra large green base and is decorated with a luxuriant gold bow and elegant gold swag across the bottom full of gold and glittered foliage, gold apples, pine cones and star. This wreath really makes an elegant and striking statement. £25.

Choosing Snapdragons as your wedding florist.

Getting married soon Congratulations. There's so much to plan and so many decisions to make but choosing your florist shouldn't be an difficult one. Here at Snapdragons we offer a full bespoke service for all your wedding day floral needs.
What can we offer
For a more detailed descriptions please check our weddings page.
Brides and Bridesmaids Bouquets. Everyone is different so why should your Bouquet be the same as everyone else at Snapdragons we can offer a range of styles and shapes working in colours to suit your theme. You can browse though our past work and we welcome brides bringing in their our pictures and ideas to help us create something that is special to you.
Like this bouquet where the bride was looking for a casual rustic look in yellow and white to echo the daisy theme we included scented freesia a favorite of her mothers and bound it in a rustic jute ribbon.
We can also work in more personalized items like the picture below the bride provided us with the heart brooch which I believed to be part of her something old something tradition and we attached it to the handle. This bouquet also had pearls worked between the large headed avalanche cream roses as this tied in with detailing on her dress.
Here you can also see a smaller version of the brides bouquet for a bridesmaid and a flower girl wand which we dressed with navy blue ribbon to be in keeping with the theme.
When it comes to bridesmaids we can create things to fit with your colours, numbers ages and budget. Sometimes they have a smaller version of the brides, or the same flowers but a different shape, co-coordinating mirrored colours is also popular, for example the bride is wearing white and had a pink bouquet with a hint of white and the bridesmaids wearing pink have white bouquets with a hint of pink. Wrist corsages are also a popular choice for bridesmaids we can offer a range of different bands from simple velcro to all out diamante bling. These work well as they leave the bridesmaids hand free, handy for carrying petal baskets or keeping hold of younger members of the party.

Buttonholes
Lets not leave the boys out when it comes to buttonholes again we can work to suit your needs choose a flower to match your bouquet, have the grooms favorite flower have a colour to match your theme or to compliment you suit choice. The grooms can be abit different to everyone else and how many you have is up to you, We can also provide corsages for Mum's, Grandmas, best women, readers ect. These are normally abit bigger than a buttonhole and may have extras such as feathers, beads bows. These can be made on pins, magnets or wrist bands in colours to fit your theme or match their outfit.

Venues and churches

We offer a large range of items to decorate your chosen church and or venue. Have a little or alot to complete the look of your day. These full flower pew ends complimented the pedestals by the screen and in the porch beautifully and really tied the look together
Installing flowers in your chosen church is part of the service we offer so all you have to do is turn up and enjoy your day.

Top table arrangements are often popular and look lovely on speech photos. Your wedding reception is your party time to celebrate with your family and friends and thank them for sharing your special day. We can provide arrangements to suit day, you can hire statement vases off us with a profusion of blooms or choose something simple and minimal to just tie your theme together.

We are also happy for you to provide your own containers for us to fill, here the bride had been making a collection of vintage jugs which we filled with flowers to compliment her beautiful country wedding theme.
If you have the time and flare and wish to create your own reception displays  we can discuss supplying you with loose cut flowers priced by the stem so they match with all your other flowers.

 Extras
We can also advise and provide little floral extras to complete your day such Thank-you bouquets to present to Mums and key people during speeches, Aqua packed handtieds work well as they are provided in water and can be done to fit your theme or just a lovely mix of colours.  We have also done small posies to sit on top of cakes just let us know the size of your top tier and we can work to the appropriate dimensions. Wanting to par take of the tradition of throwing your bouquet but don't want to spoil the stunning creation you carried down the aisle we can provide you with a throwing bouquet made either smaller or in less expensive blooms Gypsohila with a coloured ribbon is a popular choice or something else the bride below had Hydrangeas as they are a favorite of hers but didn't fit with her chosen style of main bouquet this was a fun way to work them in to the day.

New at snapdragons this week. Lovely colours.

We have some simply stunning fresh flowers available at Snapdragons making some really beautiful combinations and at some beautiful prices.
First up we have these mixed pink germini available in four complimenting shades. These stems of joy are available for just 50p each or 5 for £2 what a bargain.

Next we are embracing the current trend of peach and personally I'm surprised how much I love it but who could turn down this lovely bunch. Carnations (70p a stem), Hypericum (95p a stem) and Soildargo (£1 a stem) are matched with cute spray roses (£1.20 a stem) and a couple of the Germini and backed with some grey/green eucalyptus (50p a stem) to create a vintage cottage look.

If you are after something a touch brighter how about popping together the sunny lemon Chrysanthemum (80p a stem) and lilac aster (£1 a stem) with these stunning large headed pink Roses (£1.20 a stem) and for something a little different there is also green spray Carnations (70p a stem)

Or if you are after something really different how about a striking stem of Cymbidium orchid (£3.25 a stem) these beauties look stunning just on their own or as a focal point of your bouquet.

We also have some new glassware being showcased on one of the central tables, really brightening up the front of the shop.

This vase is simple yet stylish the wide base is study and nipped in neckline gives space for adorning with a ribbon (I've gone for a lime polka dot nice and summery) but the opening is still wide enough to allow for a profusion of your favorite blooms. Here it is filled with yellow chrysanthemums and lilac aster to give a casual feel.  Vase £12.99

Complimenting this we have a ribbed vintage style jar vase which is trimmed with a yellow polka ribbon and has a small mixed posy of flowers in it.
And also bottle vases these also lend themselves to being trimmed with ribbon, and look lovely with just a few choice stems. Great to brighten up a small corner or windowsill.

The last picture I would like to share with you just is how well our vintage dressing table is working as part of the flower stand I feel is really compliments and flower selection much better than just plain tables.

Hope I have inspired you with our latest selection of fresh flowers why not pop in and get a few to treat someone or yourself! Everything is better with flowers.
